With over 30 years of sushi craftsmanship, Chef Son brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge, precision, and artistry to Kuma Sushi. His lifelong dedication to the culinary tradition of Japan has shaped the restaurant’s vision; where technique, balance, and integrity come together in perfect harmony. Chef Jung blends classic Japanese artistry with a modern Pacific Northwest sensibility, creating a dining experience that feels both authentic and innovative. His philosophy is rooted in respect for the fish. Understanding that every cut, temperature, and texture plays a role in the final expression of flavor. Under his guidance, the Kuma Sushi team upholds the gold standard of quality, ensuring that every guest experiences the beauty of true sushi craftsmanship.
Chef Narai Chef & Co-Owner
With over 20 years of culinary experience, Chef Narai brings both artistry and leadership to Kuma Sushi. Her deep respect for Japanese tradition is balanced by a modern Pacific Northwest sensibility, resulting in cuisine that feels authentic, thoughtful, and innovative. In addition to her culinary expertise, Chef Narai oversees the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure that every aspect of the business runs with precision and care. From mentoring the team to refining guest experiences, she embodies the harmony between craft and coordination that defines Kuma Sushi. Her philosophy is rooted in balance: honoring the integrity of each ingredient while creating an atmosphere where both staff and guests feel at home.

With over 30 years of culinary experience, Chef John brings a quiet intensity and deep passion for his craft to the Kuma Sushi kitchen. His work reflects decades of refinement, precision, and a true appreciation for the art of Japanese cuisine. Blending tradition with instinct, Chef John approaches every dish as an expression of respect for the ingredients, the technique, and the guest(s) who will experience it.
